Profile: OneSky envisions a world where all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We partner with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children can thrive.
350 million children globally do not have access to quality early care and education. For children born into adverse circumstances or living in low-resourced environments, quality care is even more critical, yet even less likely to be available.
Since our founding in 1998, OneSky has trained and supported the caregivers of young children in low-resourced communities, ages 0-8, who have been orphaned, abandoned, left behind, or impacted by migration. During our first 20 years, we helped transform the lives of tens of thousands of children in Chinese welfare institutions by training adults to provide them with nurturing care. Based on that experience, we realized we had a model for supporting marginalized young children throughout Asia.
While our work in mainland China continues, we now also benefit even more children in need through partnerships with the governments of Vietnam and Mongolia.
We recognize that the needs of all young children are fundamentally the same and that with consistent responsive care and loving attention, children born into even the most difficult circumstances can thrive and be changemakers in their communities and the world.
